Building & Decorating Hastings, Bexhill, Eastbourne & East Sussex

We’re very much a family-run business, and this ethos has always been hugely important to us. Over the years, we’ve earned a high level of trust among our commercial and domestic customers, and forged excellent working relationships with suppliers, staff, clients and others. All workers are DBS checked so we can work in local schools.

We provide a wide range of building and decorating services across our part of the world, which takes in Hastings, St Leonards-on-Sea, Eastbourne, Rye, Bexhill as well as Battle and the surrounding areas of East Sussex. It’s a beautiful part of the world (we know we’re biased) and our roots here run deep – we really do love where we’re based and have extensive local knowledge.

Testimonials

Prompt return of enquiry, and turned up when they said they would. Nice people.

Checkatrade review, Bexhill (TN40), May 2025

S.D.S. transformed what was a large, useless alcove in my hallway into a storage area by constructing a partition with door involving all the carpentry, dry lining and painting necessary. The skills used at each stage were absolutely first class resulting in a top quality job of the first order.

Checkatrade review, Hastings (TN34), February 2024

S.D.S. Builders and Decorators Hastings Ltd recently decorated our lounge. This is the third job they have done for us and, as previously, they were courteous, reliable and efficient from when they first visited to view the work and prepare their estimate right through to the completion of the work. They arrived to start the work exactly as arranged, the quality of their work was excellent, and the work area was left clean and tidy on completion. We will have no hesitation in using them again or recommending them to others.

Checkatrade review, Bexhill (TN40), November 2023

They were always friendly and helpful and on time! They were helpful about sourcing the paint and very tidy and thorough. When glitches occurred they were sorted out quickly, and they did a great job with relining a ceiling.
