Why choose SDS to manage your building work?

You may not have thought about this previously, but having a project manager on your building scheme, whatever that is and however small it may seem initially, saves you time, hassle and money.

A building project manager fulfils a number of functions, including offering:

With a project manager, there are no hidden extras or unpleasant surprises at the end of a scheme.

You also need this service because, don’t forget, reality and computer drawings can differ. So what looks great and works on the screen may not be a viable option in reality – which is where good project managers come in.

 

What to look for in your project manager

The organisation you choose obviously needs to have extensive skills in and knowledge of building. But, at the same time, they must also be highly organised and project-focused.

You’ll also need to check how long they’ve been in the industry, their insurance arrangements, and ask to see examples of previous work (if only photos), plus references from past customers.

If you choose a building firm to project-manage your scheme, they know their staff and will manage them on site directly. Additionally, they will arrange materials and service deliveries very precisely for when these are needed.

Finally, be sure your project manager isn’t tackling too many jobs at once, especially across different areas, but has the time and capacity to focus on your works.
